7 Days Heroes is a 2D action-platformer set in a futuristic world where an AI has gone rogue. It has unleashed a terrifying virus that invades human minds, depriving them of emotions and sensations and transforming them into zombies. Developed by Dolores Entertainment, the game is now available on Nintendo Switch. For platforming fans, 7 Days Heroes is available as a free download on our blog. 7 Days Heroes incorporates the classic elements of a 2D action-platformer. The gameplay is very simple: use the left joystick or the D-pad to move, the B button to jump, and the Y button to use the character’s special ability. Four characters are available, and while they control similarly, each possesses a unique ability that is gradually unlocked as you progress. Characters are not available from the start and are only unlocked through gameplay. You begin with an anonymous man; The game doesn’t even mention it. Your companion is a pug. Your starting character is equipped with a basic weapon with a fairly fast rate of fire, but low damage. The dog is a valuable asset: it can squeeze through narrow passages to retrieve items and automatically attacks enemies.

The game involves traversing levels, shooting enemies, and reaching the end. Each level has several objectives to complete. The first is to collect a certain number of nanomachines. These devices are mainly dropped by enemies, but they can also be found in hidden locations. The next objective is treasure hunting. This part is fun because you have to search everywhere to find the treasure. Opening these chests gives you special items.

Nanomachines can be used to upgrade your weapons. To complete a level, two conditions are required: first, you must find the red key hidden within the level, and second, your team must reach the end safely. It’s not difficult at first, when you only have two characters, but as you progress through the game, you unlock two more characters, and the challenges increase considerably.

Once all four characters are unlocked, you’ll control one of them, with the other three following you. You can switch between them by pressing X, and pressing A will order them to stop. In combat, only the character you’re controlling can be damaged; the other three are invincible.

Each of the seven worlds corresponds to a day in the story. Most days have five levels, but the later ones have fewer, for a total of 32 levels. Each day takes place in a different setting, illustrating your adventure for the week. Each day ends with a thrilling boss fight. You must defeat the boss to access the next level.

7 Days Heroes features decent 2D graphics. Honestly, they don’t compete with AAA titles, but they’re still acceptable. The game uses a simple pixel art style, and the overall look is clean. The variety of levels is also a plus. The music is excellent.
