About this Game
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin: Long ago, Sakuna, a pampered princess, led a carefree life in the capital of Mihashira among the gods and spirits of Yanato. However, a chance encounter on the celestial bridge connecting the High Realm of the immortals to the Low Realm of mortals—with the children of men (or “humans,” as they call themselves)—triggered a series of mishaps.
These events unfortunately led to their banishment to Hinoe Island, known as the “Isle of Demons.” The ruling deity, Lady Kamuhitsuki, tasked Sakuna with establishing a foothold there for the capital and eradicating the hordes of demonic beasts ravaging the island. As a goddess, she must also look after the rebellious children accompanying her. But even a goddess needs to eat; thus begins this tale of rice and ruin…
Although Sakuna starts as a spoiled princess, her journey lets her prove herself the true heir to her illustrious parents: Lady Toyohana, Goddess of the Harvest, and Lord Takeribi, God of War. While exploring the stunning yet hostile landscapes of Hinoe Island, she finds a home in a mountain village and proves worthy of her station by cultivating rice and improving the lives of the humans.
