Greak: Memories of Azur is a 2D side-scrolling action-adventure Metroidvania game for Nintendo Switch. You play as Greak, a boy living in the world of Azur, ravaged by a strange pollution that is devastating the land, and which the inhabitants are helplessly fighting.

Before the game begins, Greak’s family is torn apart: his sister has been kidnapped and needs to be rescued, while his older brother has disappeared while searching for artifacts to try to stop the pollution. Needless to say, the situation is dire.

The game begins with a strange dream Greak has, revealing where his sister is being held captive and ordering him to go to her rescue. On the way, he falls into a waterfall, a chaotic start to his mission. After receiving medical treatment, he sets out to find his sister and helps the village evacuate its inhabitants by gathering supplies.

Once all that is accomplished, it will be time to discover whether Greak will manage to save the village or if the situation will spiral out of control once again.

The gameplay is quite simple. Greak can run, double jump, leap, and wield his sword. However, he cannot swim for long. The game mechanics are very straightforward, and there isn’t much more to add. After all, the goal is to find his siblings. Once his sister is found, a new gameplay element appears: you can control each character together or separately. The team’s actions depend on your choices. You can order them to mimic you and follow you, or to remain still. You can also summon them to you.

Greak: Memories of Azur offers a beautiful and captivating world to explore. Each area is visually stunning. The art style is simply superb. Everything is hand-drawn: the backgrounds, the characters, the animations, and even the cutscenes.
