About this Game
Fast RMX is a Nintendo Switch exclusive. This title marks the revival of the famous racing game franchise. Fast RMX is the sequel to Fast Racing Neo (2015), itself a sequel to Fast Racing League (2011). Developer Shin’en created this unique arcade racing franchise, whose gameplay draws inspiration from Wipeout and F-Zero, while incorporating its own original ideas. Fast RMX features the same ship design and driving feel as Wipeout.
At the start of the game, you have three options: Championship mode, consisting of 10 cups, each with three stages at three different speeds; Multiplayer mode, playable with up to 8 players online or in split-screen; and Hero mode, which uses the rules of F-Zero. In this mode, victory is determined by reaching the finish line; your health is linked to the boost gauge. To heal, you must collect energy bonuses or use boost zones. All tracks in Hero mode are mirror images.
It’s a shame the game doesn’t offer a single-player race or time trial mode. The music, however, is excellent and perfectly complements the game’s frenetic pace. The AI is well-balanced: no single driver consistently dominates. The difficulty is also better calibrated than in the previous installment.
