About this Game
In Darkstar One, you play as Kayron Jarvis. Fresh out of flight school, he learns from a close friend of his father that his father has been the victim of sabotage. As a parting gift, he receives the unique Darkstar One and sets out to uncover the truth.
Darkstar One combines the mechanics of Wing Commander: Privateer and Freelancer. You can pilot your ship with a joystick or mouse.
Once the mystery is solved, you can explore 330 star systems, trade with other systems, take on contracts to eliminate pirate gangs, or even try your hand at piracy. The game offers complete freedom in your objectives and choices, and every action influences your reputation.
You can also search for artifacts. Unlike previous games in the genre, there’s no need to buy a larger ship. You’ll pilot only the Darkstar One throughout the entire adventure. You can upgrade your ship using artifacts found on asteroids. The ship’s core attributes can be optimized if you possess enough artifacts. This allows you to add more powerful weapons and other equipment, such as a shield amplifier.
