A bold assault on the enemy planet, protected by mechanical hives that rattle deadly cannons and launch volleys of swirling missiles. Snipe from a distance to find safety pockets in the middle of the onslaught of fire, then charge forward in bold raids to take down enemy defenses. Collect enough energy by destroying enemy shields to power your super-powered Zorlon cannon, which shoots burning golden energy blasts into the enemy hive.

Yars: Recharged is the latest title from Adamvision Studios and SneakyBox, the team behind the Atari Recharged series. This game combines elements of arcade, shoot ’em up, and bullet hell with the classic formula. Yars: Recharged demands extreme vigilance from players, alerting them to visual and auditory cues that foretell imminent danger. They also have to master the timing of each boss fight while progressing through increasingly complex enemy defenses, all set to an epic soundtrack by Megan McDuffee.

This new game marks Atari’s return to the Yars universe, inspired by Howard Scott Warshaw’s 1982 classic, Yars’ Revenge.

Key Features:

Arcade Mode: Against 30 bases in Boss Rush mode. The mode isn’t endless, but it’s VERY hard to beat. Three hits and you’re dead, but don’t worry, the hit counter resets at the start of the next fight.

Missions: 30 unique and formidable bosses, and only one life to defeat each one. Like Gravitar: Recharged, there is a global leaderboard available for the mission mode, so be at your best! The bosses are a real challenge: take them down with a barrage of shots, or start with the smaller Minor Cores and move on to the boss.

Bonus: Minor Cores drop bonuses when attached. Fire in all directions at once, in rapid bursts, with explosive shots, or with the electromagnetic cannon: the type of bonus depends on which core it received.

Co-op: Yars: Recharged has local co-op, which can be played in both arcade and mission modes. This is a big departure from the original and a very fun way to play with a friend.
